The Nolij STEM program has integrated computer science as a focal content area in order to increase scholars’ computing skills and knowledge. Over the course of the program, scholars participate in sequenced project-based learning curriculum to increase their interest, engagement, and knowledge of computing content.

Our programs empower our scholars to be agents of change throughout the project-based learning program to critically analyze problems facing their communities and create STEM based solutions utilizing a design thinking framework.
Financial Literacy
The Nolij financial literacy program for young adults curriculum helps youth ages 12-20 learn the basics of handling their money and finances, including how to create positive relationships with financial institutions. The materials are fully scripted to allow volunteers begin teaching without having previous teaching experience or extensive subject matter expertise. Our Programs
In an ever-changing, increasingly complex world, it's more important than ever that our nation's youth are prepared to bring knowledge and skills to solve problems, make sense of information, and know how to gather and evaluate evidence to make decisions. These are the kinds of skills that students develop in science, technology and engineering. If we want a nation where our future leaders, neighbors, and workers have the ability to understand and solve some of the complex challenges of today and tomorrow, we must also make sure that, no matter where children live, they have access to quality learning environments.
Science
Science is everywhere in today’s world. Advances in technology and science are transforming our world at an incredible pace, and our children’s future will surely be filled with leaps in technology we can only imagine. Being “science literate” will no longer be just an advantage but an absolute necessity. We can’t escape from the significance of science in our world.
Engineering
The world is changing, and engineers are the ones behind so much of this development. The majority of today’s services and products had some element of engineering involved in their conception at least, paving the way to long, fulfilling and healthy lives for the people influenced by them. In an advanced technological world, we need engineers to bring ideas into reality. By applying the principles of mathematics and science, engineers develop solutions to the world’s biggest technical issues.
Technology
Innovations and new technologies are changing the world and the daily lives of each and every one of us. Many things that were mere visions of the future yesterday are now reality. Technology develops and shapes the way we communicate, learn, and think.
Financial Literacy
Financial education can benefit consumers of all ages and income levels. For students who are developing their future, it can provide basic tools for budgeting and saving so that expenses and debt can be kept under control. Financial education can help families acquire the discipline to save for their own home and/or for the next generation’s education.
